Lt Gen SM Mehta (Retd.), AVSM, SM, VSM and Bar to VSM has had a distinguished and checkered career spanning four decades in the army. A highly decorated soldier, he is known for his leadership qualities as he has handled a multitude of leadership positions at strategic, inter- services, and operational levels. A thinker and an eminent Engineer, he transitioned successfully to the social sector after his retirement in 2014. As CEO of The Hans Foundation, he led its operations with great vision and contributed to its phenomenal growth over the next seven years.
He has been National Advisor to Saksham Foundation, CEO of The Banyan Foundation and Banyan Academy of Leadership for mental health and he is Chairman of Inclusion of Divyangjans Entrepreneurs Association (IDEA) Foundation.
He has joined ATFL as Chairman on 10th July 2023.
A highly gifted and distinctly competent engineer from the Indian Army, Maj Bhando is a mechanical engineer by profession. He took premature retirement and joined ATFL in 1993. He is versatile, has a perceptive intellect and carries a very calm persona. He oversees entire operations of ATFL, provides overall guidance and direction for its growth as per the vision of company.
He is a qualified NAREDCO certificate holder on Real Estate. A dedicated veteran, he is enthusiastically involved in corporate social responsibility activities. He has steered and contributed to the phenomenal growth of the company and has been responsible for completion of one stellar project after the other, successfully in the past 30 years.
